Members of the co-operative housing movement from across Ireland attended the Annual General Meeting of NABCO in Dublin on 7th December. Attendees included members from new co-operative housing developments in Killiney and Mulhuddart in Co. Dublin.
At the AGM, President of NABCO Mr. Declan Hudson launched the Annual Report which highlighted the large number of activities that had taken pace in the context of the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives in 2012.
The AGM also included a workshop discussion of the potential applications of the co-operative model in wider areas of social enterprise. The feedback from members and staff will be used to inform the Association’s work over the coming year.
Finally, the AGM heard a rehearsed reading of an excerpt from ‘History’, a play based on the history of regeneration attempts at St. Michael’s Estate in Dublin. The play was produced by THEATREclub and written by Grace Dyas, who has close ties to the co-operative housing movement.
