A seminar to be held in Dublin will explore how local communities can use the co-operative model to generate and sell their own energy.
Leading international figures in local energy production from Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany will share their experiences of starting and running successful energy co-operatives. Irish speakers include Dara O’ Maoldhia from Comharchumann Fuinneamh Oileáin Arainn (Aran Islands Energy Co-op) and Ray Doyle from ICOS.
The seminar, which takes place on April 8th, is being organised by the Society of Co-operative Studies of Ireland and is sponsored by NABCO through the Co-operative Alliance Ireland which includes ICOS and the Irish League of Credit Unions.
More details on the seminar with information on how to register are available from the SCSI Facebook page.
