Following on from ‘Housing Ourselves Co-operatively’ held in October 2015 and a Co-Housing Salon hosted in October 2016 Cultivate co-operative are hosting a conference to bring together people with an interest or involvement in co-operative housing, co-living projects, community land trusts, community development, planning, green building and social finance to look at how we can make a community-led approach to housing a reality.
The event will incorporate inspiring stories of housing and community pioneers from Ireland and the UK and facilitated conversations amongst participants with the aim of progressing a vision of a new approach to housing ourselves.
The event looks at topical issues such as:
- How can we design communities where we can live and work, and that integrate the needs of all generations
- How might we build together in a more affordable way?
- Can a new co-operative approach to housing ourselves address the sustainability and wellbeing challenges we face?
Contributors include John Masterson, Head of Finance at Co-operative Housing Ireland, Davie Philip of Cloughjordan Co-housing, and Hugh Brennan from O Cualann Co-housing.
