Speaking at the SEAI’s national Energy Show today, NABCO’s Director of Development, Geoff Corcoran shared the Association’s experience of developing warmer homes for co-operative members. NABCO has played a leading role in delivering the SEAI’s Better Energy Area Based Warmer Homes initiative in the Dublin region.
Geoff noted that the delivery of retrofitting measures for 100 homes in Balbriggan and Cherry Orchard in Dublin had been the result of a co-operative effort between partners.
“Making this project deliver warmer homes for members while realising energy saving and environmental impacts has been a real partnership effort,” he said. “NABCO has been fortunate to work with supportive colleagues in the SEAI and Electric Ireland on the projects we have delivered so far. We also need to acknowledge the contribution of members who have fully supported the aims of the initiative throughout”.
NABCO’s delivery of energy retrofitting measures forms part of the Association’s approach to Co-operative Social Responsibility – demonstrating that co-operatives are the leading business model for delivering social, economic and environmental sustainability.
