Early Years Educator

CHI Childcare is seeking a full-time “Early Years Educator” (x2) to work in its Island Key Childcare Service in East Wall, Dublin 3. The position will be a 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract, 37.5 hours a week (Monday – Friday) and reporting to the Childcare Services Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working as a member of the childcare team in the provision of a child centred programme for school aged children.
  • Acting as a practitioner for a number of children as directed by the Childcare Service Manager.
  • Communicating with parents and other caregivers regarding children’s activities.
  • Participating in the planning, implementation, documentation and review of the services programmes.
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are implemented in the carrying out of duties.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the service in collaboration with the Team.
  • Participating in all training and workshops as arranged by the Childcare Service Manager.
  • Attending all team meetings as arranged by Childcare Service Manager.
  • Any other duties within the general requirements of the above that may be assigned by the Childcare Service Manager from time to time as appropriate to the position.

Requirements:

  • Minimum QQI Level 5/6/7 qualification in Early Year Education/School-Aged Childcare.
  • At least 1 years’ paid experience of working in community early years’ service setting.
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the Aistear & Siolta programmes.
  • A commitment to creating a quality and inclusive environment for early years learning and continuous professional development.
  • Flexibility in approach to tasks and an appreciation of the importance of teamwork.
