NABCO, Ireland’s national co-operative housing organisation, today commenced works that will deliver 20 much-needed new co-operative homes in Dublin’s Inchicore. The new apartments at Camac Crescent will be completed and occupied in the autumn of this year.
This new development, which comprises a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will provide homes for 20 families on Dublin City Council’s housing waiting list alongside purpose-built community facilities. Works on the site to complete the unfinished apartments are supported by an investment of €650,000 and will support six full-time equivalent jobs in the construction sector.
Commenting on the new development, NABCO’s Director of Development, Geoff Corcoran said: “the completion works for these vacant housing units will facilitate employment and help to meet the pressing for additional housing in the city of Dublin. The works at Camac Crescent are part of NABCO’s wider development programme for 2014 that will include more new homes and the refurbishment and renewal of existing co-operative housing”.
