At an event in Dublin today, Minister for Housing and Planning, Jan O’Sullivan T.D., officially launced ‘Building for the Future, a Voluntary Regulation Code for Approved Housing Bodies’. The publication can be downloaded here.
Speaking at the launch, NABCO Chief Executive, Dr. Niall O’Keeffe, said: “the co-operative housing movement has been calling for some time for an agreed framework for regulating the co-operative and voluntary housing sectors. This code will provide partners with the confidence they need to invest in our sector’s ambitious plans for the future.”
NABCO’s President, Declan Hudson, said: “members of co-operatives and tenants of voluntary housing associations are entitled to know that their organisations are being run in a way that is fair, accountable and sustainable. This code is an important tool to help make that happen.”
