StartBright take over CHI's Brookview and St Finian’s childcare services
September 29, 2022
We are delighted to announce an ownership change as StartBright Early Learning Centres take over Co-operative Housing Ireland’s (CHI) Brookview and St Finian’s childcare services.
CHI will no longer be responsible for the provision of childcare at the two services but will continue to manage its childcare service at Island Key. CHI and Start Bright worked co-operatively throughout the transition ensuring the services remained open and uninterrupted through out the transition and supported the childcare teams transfer to StartBright.
StartBright are a non-profit childcare and early learning provider. StartBright was founded over 11 years ago and is a registered charity that currently provides quality early years education and afterschool services to over 300 children across Clondalkin, Lucan & Tallaght. The organisation has over 50 staff and its services are delivered in safe, supportive and creative environments. Welcoming Brookview and St Finian’s to the Start Bright Family sees StartBright services grow to 7centres, providing services to over 450 children and employing over 70 staff.
Speaking about the move, Chairperson of CHI, Pearse O’Shiel said, “On behalf of the Board, management, and staff of Co-operative Housing Ireland I would like to sincerely thank CHI childcare staff for their hard work and dedication. The childcare teams in Brookview and St Finian’s have cared for children living in CHI communities and beyond for more than 20 years, it is a credit to you all and CHI is so grateful for your commitment.”
Mr O’Shiel continued, “Nothing ever stays the same and as organisations evolve there’s change. CHI wants to ensure that the Brookview and St Finian’s childcare services it founded have the best possible future and believes that they will in moving to StartBright. We are confident that it is also an opportunity for the Brookview and St Finian’s childcare teams. We wish you well in the exciting times ahead.”

We believe that both services fit into our mission and vision for children and their families. We look forward to welcoming the teams of educators and the children and families into the StartBright family.”
She continued, “Over the next few weeks and months, we will be rebranding the centres and developing the services in line with the StartBright quality improvement plans.
